Now I know this one isn't a flower or plant, but she sure is a beauty.  My beloved kitty cat.

If you follow me on Twitter then you'll know that 2 weeks ago or so I bought myself a new camera: the Canon 500d.  What a beautiful piece of machinery.  Now I don't quite know how to use all of the bits and bobs and various knobs {why, a rhyme! how nice} but Im on the waiting list for a very exclusive {ahem} photography course at Fat Tuesday where Ill actually learn how to use the thing. 

These are pics that I took at my mom's house - well, her garden to be exact.  My parents subscribe to the "let the plants grow as they wish..." kind of horticulture, which is great for daughters like me who want to snap pics of their overgrown flora and fauna. 

These are just some of the first batch of pics I took with my new SLR.

Love it.  You don't have to be a great photographer to take great photos with this thing!
